The great thing that I remember about Picasa was the easy photo-touch-up interface. It was much better than Flickr's pay service. Unfortunately, you can't really use Picassa or that interface with a Mac, so I had to give it up.
For social groups and just a great amount of searchable content, you can't beat Flickr...which is how I found you. :)

Yeah, that's part of it. I've never used the picasa tool (iPhoto, F-Spot, Gimp). But I keep most of my library on picasaweb, which is a similar service to flickr, but less social, more album-oriented.
I definitely agree with the social/searchable/groupable nature of flickr though. I'm pretty new on it, but having a good time.
