Beerdrinker.org is a beer drinker: Facebook isn’t Twitter

Awesome review of the differences of the two social media tools. I find it frustrating when someone is updating their twitter and facebook as one. What the heck, seeing @marketguru and #pdxbeer in a facebook update is just plain silly!

You know what, I have been a user on all these sites, the only site which I am loving the most is twitter, i think twitter outperforms facebook and myspace single handedly! I am sure many would agree with me on this!

Good stuff, Rick! I'm not a twitter user - facebook does everything I need a social site to do... but I may create an account so I can "lurk" and observe the types of interactions that happen on twitter. My impression is that lurking without contributing is difficult on twitter... you can only gain so much by observing a conversation before you need to join in. On facebook, it's easy to camp out and consume your friends' photos and videos without anyone even knowing!

I ditched myspace a long time ago for the same reasons you mentioned: narcissism and anonymity. Even though users can lurk with satisfaction on facebook, it's definitely one of the strongest online networks for authenticity and meaningful conversations!

Facebook is way beyond greater than Twitter, twitter only broadcast whatever you say in say 1++ words. Facebook has so many applications and can comments on photos.

Facebook is a lot nicer and in some way can share photos and at the same time can play applications.

    Hey Smart Guy,

Awesome review. Very insightful and well thought out. I occurs to me as I read your Myspace v. Facebook and Twitter v. Facebook reviews that you've got something... you've got way too much time on your hands to ponder these things.

I'm envious but I am also pointing out your need for a time consuming hobby... such as making even more beer!
